Pamphlet 1352 Amos kc 5-2
The religious leaders also do not know how to do right in the churches of this land and they do eat from the very same tree which our Father told Adam and Eve to stay away from and worse yet, they pass that wicked fruit along to His people, many of whom shall be seduced (spiritually) as was Eve (physically). Woe!
But before Jesus Christ returns, our Father wants the perpetrators of the confusion and the oppression to be given fair warning! In other words, He wants the Trumpet to sound that He is coming to put an end to Babylon the Great!
And He will use a few good men (and
women) to accomplish it!
Perhaps He will use you!
Do you have a destiny?
It is written that some will be delivered up before the councils and the synagogues of Satan and give His testimony! What an exciting time that will be!
To understand this verse we must keep in mind the time frame for the visions of Amos, which is "two years before the great earthquake" (Zech. 14:5). Then we need to understand that Ashdod, which was the seat of the god Dagon, represents the Assyrian, one of the names used in type for the false messiah. Egypt on the other hand is repeatedly used in type to represent the captivity and oppression of our people, the house of Israel "which is scattered abroad" to the Isles of the West.Amos 3:9
Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
Here are the definitions of "tumult" and "oppression".
You assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria, which means "watch mountain" and you BEHOLD how the true house of Israel has become the land of citadels of tumult (confusion) and citadels of oppression. The "high places" in our land, both civil and religious, have become palaces of injustice and corruption at the expense of our people. We have become so removed from the Word of God that they know not the difference between right and wrong.tumult = äîÈeäîÀmehuòmaòh meh-hoo-maw' Strong's #4103
From H1949; confusion or uproar:—destruction, discomfiture, trouble, tumult, vexation, vexed.oppression = ÷eLòÈ ÷LÝòÈ €aòshuòq €aòshuòq aw-shook', aw-shook' Strong's #6217
Passive participle of H6231; used in plural masculine as abstraction tyranny:—oppressed (-ion). [Doubtful.]
[10] For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
The religious leaders also do not know how to do right in the churches of this land and they do eat from the very same tree which our Father told Adam and Eve to stay away from and worse yet, they pass that wicked fruit along to His people, many of whom shall be seduced (spiritually) as was Eve (physically).
Woe!
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
