Eve allowed the Devil to seduce her in the garden and she was now "with child".
So we have now read the good news and "seen" the beautiful yet future "vision" in this fourth chapter of Micah concerning "the mountain of the house of the LORD (which) shall be established in that day "in the top of the mountains, and exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. (Micah 4:1)" It is important that we keep that comforting "vision" foremost in our minds, because for now, UNTIL THAT DAY when the birth of a new age comes forth, she (the woman) must go through travail, i.e. "labor pains", which are part of the birth process.
Now why dost thou cry aloud? Dr. Bullinger correctly notes: "This refers to the birth-pangs of the new nation which will be brought forth in that day and at that time." (Companion Bible, pg. 1256)Micah 4:9
Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.
You see, labor pains were ordained of God from the beginning and placed (afflicted) on the woman because of what she had done. It is because of the "seduction", the "sin of Samaria", the "great apostasy", that she must travail. (Actually, it even goes back to the seduction and "falling away" in the first earth age, Rev. 12:4.)
Let's go briefly and check out what happened in the garden of Eden immediately following the seduction.
What was it she had done? The answer is that she allowed the serpent, "that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world (Rev. 12:9)" to seduce her and she was now "with child". So, because of "what she had done" she would now have to go through "travail" before giving birth.Genesis 3:13
And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
Here it is:
Why do suppose the LORD is addressing her conception? It is because she is now "with child" just having been impregnated with the seed from Satan himself and she will soon thereafter (Gen. 4:1) bring forth his child whose name will be called Cain, a sorrow indeed. He will become the first murderer of a son of Adam and his posterity will bring about the crucifixion of the Son of God.Genesis 3:16
Unto the woman He said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Also, the Hebrew word translated "sorrow" is "etseb" which means "labor pangs". This is why Jesus Christ would say "Woe!" to those who are spiritually seduced and impregnated by the serpent (the false-christ) in the last days:
Those who are deceived in this final generation, who do not remain "chaste virgins" to Christ (2 Cor. 2:11) but are spiritually seduced and impregnated by the false messiah, like the physical example we can "see" of Eve's seduction and conception in the garden, shall experience the sorrows which are the "labor pangs" in this final generation. "Woe to them who are with child!" Remember also that Christ foretold us there would be "labor pangs" just before His return, so take heed because when we see them growing stronger and occurring closer together we know the birth of the new age is nigh at hand.Luke 21:23
But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
The whole point for the purpose of today's study is to document that our Father is in complete control and the events of this generation and the "affliction" of our people symbolized by "labor pangs" are all part of the Plan of God in bringing forth the birth of the New Nation. "Labor pangs" have been His Plan from the beginning and hopefully you have gained some insight from understanding the birth process and the reason for the labor pangs in this final generation?Mark 13:8sorrows = ¨äßíoôdino-deen' Strong's #5604
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Akin to G3601; a pang or throe, especially of childbirth:—pain, sorrow, travail.
By the way? Have you ever thought about why it is that babies "cry aloud" at birth? Think about the "squeezing in the womb" that they just endured! Then think about the fact that they are naked and completely dependent and in need of covering and nurturing, etc.
So in understanding our Father's plan in this final generation just before the birth of a new age, bring on the labor pains and let's get this new nation delivered!
"For now" means "meanwhile, i.e. before that day". "Babylon" comes from the root word "babel" which means "confusion". Just as our forefathers were taken captive and scattered among the nations AS A TYPE for us to "see" today (1 Cor. 10:11), so shall our people be spiritually taken to that "State of Confusion" (Babylon) which means they will be spiritually taken captive and scattered, which is analogous to "wandering about" (confused) having lost their way, even to the point of losing their identity of who they really are, i.e. the true house of Israel.[10] Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; thereshalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
It is therefore written that our people SHALL go into Babylon and SHALL be "delivered" out of Babylon, but not by cesarean section. However, you can come out of her now and not suffer the spiritual "affliction" in this final generation. That is why it is written in Rev. 18 to COME OUT OF Babylon (religious confusion) NOW before it is too late and you are treaded and squeezed in the winepress!
Again, as we have discussed in prior studies, many (most) Christians actually dwell in darkness (confusion, Babylon) believing that they are "safe and secure" from "stumbling" before the false messiah, the destroyer, the abomination of desolation, i.e. the desolator spoken of by Daniel the prophet. Most of them believe man's lies that they will be taken in a "rapture" before the great tribulation of the sperious messiah. Have they not read their history? Their forefathers did not escape the king of Babylon and neither shall they!Rev. 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
"Wherefore", Paul writes, "let him that thinketh he standeth [safe and secure, peace and safety] take heed [to the history of our people] lest he fall." (1 Cor. 10:12)1 Thes. 5:3
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
