Most of our brothers and sisters whom we love very much truly believe that God approves of their sacrifices and offerings
This is our Father speaking! He has now given us the entirety of His WRITTEN WORD! And it is not just the critics and scoffers of today who consider it a strange, foreign, alien thing! Most Christians believe it is a "strange thing", as in hard to read and understand. But it is really not that difficult at all if you use common sense, a good translation, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct you instead of preconceived ideas!Hosea 8:12
I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
As we have learned in this Book of Hosea (vs. 6:6), all our Father wants is for His children to love Him and obey His commands, His Voice, i.e. His Word, the Bible. It is not their "sacrifices" and their "offerings" and the rest of their religious practices and traditions that He seeks.
Here is a second witness to His desires:
He wants His children to be well, to be happy and successful and secure.Jeremiah 7:21
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.[22] For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
[23] But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
You cannot buy happiness. It comes as a result of listening and obeying your Father. You reap what you sow![24] But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
You who claim to be a Christian, please note; All the words of those old and new testament prophets are written and recorded for you and me. In other words, those same prophets have been sent to us this very day! Do our people listen to them and hearken unto their voices?[25] Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:
They could give two corn cobs![26] Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.[27] Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.
There is a great famine in America, "not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD (Amos 8:11).[28] But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
The truth has been cut off, our people do not know His Word so how could they possibly obey His voice? They can't and they don't! They worship and serve God after the traditions of man not according to that which is written in His Word! Soooo... they reap what they sow.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
