Remember. if you are one of those so-called Christians who only reads and studies the New Testament, the Old Testament was written for our 21st century admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. (see 1 Corinthians 10:11)

As you read the Book of Exodus please remember what Paul told us in Corinthians about the experiences of the Israelites in the wilderness (the world) and after Moses led them out of Egypt.  Remember the Books of Leviticus and Numbers also describe Israelite history in the wilderness. Where is this wilderness? The wilderness the Bible discusses is the whole world, in general; not just a bunch of trees!.
1 Corinthians 10:11  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

As you read the Books of Testament, especially  Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers , not just those 3; But all of the prophets, please remember what Paul told us in Corinthians about the experiences of the Israelites in the wilderness, and even after after Moses led them out of Egypt. And we include Deuteronomy, the final discourse of Moses given on the plains of Moab, opposite Palestine, shortly before his death. We also include Joshua and the conquering of Palestine, the promised land.

1 Corinthians 10:1  Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2  And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3  And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5  But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6  Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7  Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8  Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9  Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10  Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
1 Corinthians 10:11  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

It is critical that you keep in mind that these examples are for our physical admonition, if the end times referenced is prior to Christ's return while we are still in our physical bodies.  Or, for our spiritual admonition if the times referenced is after His return when we are born back into our spiritual bodies.

1 Corinthians 15:40  There are also celestial bodies (heavenly bodies,i.e. spiritual bodies), and bodies terrestrial (physical bodies,i.e. flesh and blood bodies): but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

1 Corinthians 15:44  It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

1 Corinthians 15:51  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump (the seventh trump): for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Remember Satan comes to earth first, at the sixth trump, and sits in the temple claiming that he is Christ returned, but Christ does not return until the seventh trump. Don't be fooled into worshipping Satan, thinking he is Jesus.  Your eternal life is in jeopardy if you do!

2 Thessalonians 2:1  Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Now, as to the examples Paul told us about: please read Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers.

  Live Link to> Exodus

Exodus is a word meaning exit, departure ---a fitting title for that which describes the going out of the chosen people from the land where they had suffered helplessly as slaves for generations.

This redemption from Egypt was accomplished by divine, miraculous intervention and required, on the part of the Israelites, only faith in the efficiency of shed blood Ex.12:1-13.  As in the new N.T., redemption is for the purpose of making possible fellowship of a redeemed people with God.  After the accomplishment of redemption from Egypt the law was given, followed by a revelation of the great truths of worship acceptable to God as set forth in the Tabernacle, with its accompanying sacrifices and attending priesthood.

In Exodus, God, hitherto connected with the Israelitish people only through His covenant with Abraham (see Gen.12:2), brings them to Himself nationally through redemption, puts them under the Mosaic Covenant, and dwells among them in a cloud of glory.  Galatians explains the relations of the law to the Abrahamic Covenant.  In the commandments God taught Israel His just demands.  Experience under the commandments convicted Israel of sin; and the provision of priesthood and sacrifice (filled with precious types of Christ) gave a guilty people a way of forgiveness, cleansing, restoration to fellowship, and worship.

Exodus presents many types of rich meaning; the passover; the rock; the Tabernacle; on oil; and the priesthood.

Exodus may be divided into three major sections:
1. Israel in Egypt: Oppression and conflict with Pharaoh, 1:1-12:36.
2. The Exodus from Egypt and Journey to Sinai, 12:37-18:27.
3. At Sinai: the Giving of the Law and the Construction of the Tabernacle, 19:1-40:38.

  Live Link to> Leviticus

Leviticus is devoted to the worship of the redeemed people of God, as shown by the frequent occurrence of words related to holiness and sacrifice.  The vocabulary of sacrifice pervades the book: the words "priest," "sacrifice," "blood," and "offering" occur very frequently; and "godesh," rendered "holiness" or "holy," appears more than 150 times. Observe also the repeated command: "Ye shall be holy, for I am holy" (11:44,45: 19:2; 20:7,26).

Leviticus may be divided as follows:
1. The Offerings, 1-7.
2. Consecration of Aaron and His Sons, 8-10.
3. Laws Regulating the Personal Relationships of the Redeemed People, 18-20.
4. Laws Regulating the Priesthood and the Seven Great Feasts of the Hebrew Calendar, 21-23.
5. Additional Laws, Promises, and Warnings, 24-27.

  Live Link to> Numbers

The first part of Numbers concludes the divine record of the experiences of the Israelites at Sinai and points back to Exodus. The major part of Numbers recounts the years of wondering, from the time they departed from Sinai until, as a new generation, they reached the Jordan River. The first year and a half (approximately) of Israel's forty years' wandering is recorded in Ex. 12:37-Num. 14:45; and the last few months, in Num. 20:14 to the end of the book. Between 14:45 and 20:14 there is a period of about thirty-eight years.

Redeemed from Egypt possessing the law, led by Moses, daily looking upon the Tabernacle, and supernaturally guided by cloud and pillar of fire, Israel should have walked triumphantly in the perfect will of God. Instead they failed repeatedly, as this book records.

As in in Israel each person had his definitely assigned place and task for the welfare of the whole nation, so in the Church each member of the body of Christ has his particular place and function "for the edifying of the body of Christ" (1 Cor. 12: Eph. 4:1-16).

Numbers may be divided into four major sections:
1. Preparations for Departure from Sinai, 1:1-10:10.
2. From Sinai to the Plains of Moab, 10:11-21:35
3. The Prophecies of Balaam, 22:1-25:18.
4. The Preparations for Entering the Promised Land, 26:1-36:13.

  Live Link to> Deuteronomy

Deuteronomy begins with a survey of the history of Israel, then enlarges upon some of the basic laws of the preceding books, and concludes with a series of prophecies carrying the history of Israel down to their final return to Palestine.

Deuteronomy may be divided as follows:
1. First Discourse: Review of Israel's History after the Exodus, and Its Lessons, 1-4.
2. Second Discourse: Rehearsal of the Sinaitic laws, with warnings and Exhortations, 5-26.
3. Third Discourse: Blessings and Curses for Obedience and Disobedience, 27-28.
4. Fourth Discourse: The Palestinian Covenant; Its Warnings and Promised Blessings, 29-30.
5. Conclusion: Final Words and Acts of Moses, and His Death, 31-34.

  Live Link to> Joshua

Joshua records in part the military campaigns waged by Joshua in conquering the promised land and concludes with detailed instructions for the division of the land among the tribes.

Joshua may be divided as follows:
1. Preparation for Entering Palestine, 1-5.
2. The Conquest of the Land, 6-12.
3. The Allocation of Territories to the Tribes, 13-22.
4. Joshua's Final Message  and Death, 23-24

Now, having said all that, let's talk a little bit about the book of Esther.

The Book of Esther

Chapter 1

"Ahasuerus on His Throne. [1:1 - 2:20]"
"Queen Vashti.  Offence. [2 - 12]"
"Queen Vashte.  Degradation. [13 - 22]"

INTRODUCTION

The book of Esther is a "Megillath" There art five "Megillaths" read each year during the time of Purim, and other feast days.  A "Megillah" is a Jewish scroll, or roll giving a long and involved explanation in story form of a problem the people are facing.  The Megillah tries to explain away a complicated matter, to make the final conclusion acceptable in the minds of the Jewish people involved in their confusion over that subject or problem.  These five Megillath books were the Canticles, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, and Esther.

The Canticles is the Song of Solomon, which is recording virtue being rewarded.  This book commemorates the deliverance from the Jews' oppressor.

The book of Ruth records the strangers gathered in to hear of, and share in, God's goodness in Redemption.  The book of Ruth is read at Pentecost.

The Lamentations of Jeremiah records Israel 's woes, and is read at the fast of the ninth of Abib.

Ecclesiastes, meaning "The Preacher" draws people together to hear of man's vanity.  Ecclesiastes is read during the Feast of Tabernacles, which commemorates God's goodness in the wilderness.

The fifth book of the Megillaths is Esther.  This story of Esther is recording Virtue rewarded, and is read only at the Feast of Purim.

Note that this feast commemorates the deliverance from Haman, the Jews' enemy.

The time that this book of Esther was taking place is at the same time frame that the book of Daniel took place.  Be aware that the one world system of the book of Daniel was under the control of the King Nebuchadnezzar and a Babylonian Empire, while the book of Esther takes place in Shushan, and under the King Ahasuerus of the Medes.  Both kingdoms of the Babylonians and the Medes claimed to have ruled from India to Egypt, the heart of the known world of their day.  These books fall within the time frame from 497 B.C. to 422 B.C.  The book of Daniel records the activates of the Babylonian Empire, while in this same time frame the book of Esther is addressing the Empire of the Medes.

Author Christopherson's note to Christians: In the Story of Esther our Heavenly Father's Divine name or reference to YHVH the Creator does not appear.  On the surface, to the casual reader, God is void in this story of Esther, which was and is read, by the Jews, only at the "Feast of Purim".  The Feast of Purim is only observed and respected as a Jewish holiday, for Purim is given to celebrate and commemorate their deliverance from "Haman", the Jews enemy

Editor's Note: Many say this book of Esther is not a historical happening but, only a story or parable written by a Jewish scribe.

But, whether fiction or non-fiction, to the serious student of Our Lord's Word there are acrostics hidden for us to find. When we find them we see the Lord is there controlling the whole situation.

Revelation 2:17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it

Editor's Note: Whether you choose to believe it as fact or fiction you must observe the many similarities between this book and what happened in Daniel so I tend to believe it is fiction, written by a scribe to attempt to counter the lessons taught in Daniel; Except for the acrostics it does that.

Editor's Notice: In Rev 2:17 we are told that there is "hidden" manna, i.e. hidden truth in our Bible.

Some will ask, "Why is it that truth is hidden in the Bible?"

The answer is, "So that when you go looking for it, you can find it!" Actually, all you need are "eyes to see" and "ears to hear" and it becomes revealed, uncovered. But, you must be hungry and want to look for it!

Revelation 2:17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Manna" is angel food for the spiritual body, it is what God fed the children of Israel while they were in the wilderness. The "manna" of today is the spiritual truth within the Word of God that feeds your spiritual body and mind. The "white stone" is a stone of victory, it is given to God's elect who are the overcomers. They overcame the deceit of the false-christ, and the Kenites. If you have an ear to hear, you will understand what the spirit is trying to teach you. This instruction in Rev, 2:17 is given for us by Jesus, with John doing the writing.

The readings at the Feast of Purim” chronologically were Daniel, this Megillath Esther, Nehemiah, and Ezra.  Daniel was of the Royal family that was taken into captivity in 497 B.C when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon took Jerusalem .   At the fall of Jerusalem King Jehoiakim and the royal family were all taken to Babylon .  The children of the royal family and Daniel were given special diets, and tested for their wisdom.  Daniel's wisdom was ten times more than the other children, and Nebuchadd-nezzar promoted Daniel to second in command over the entire Babylonian Empire.  The books of Nehemiah and Ezra were scrolled and read together in the manuscripts, and read as a unit, along with Haggai.  These men, prophets of God were the leaders of the House of Judah, when the came out of captivity.

“The Companion Bible”; point’s out in Appendix #60 it tells us that the Name of Jehovah, Divine name YHVH, is given five times in the Book of Esther.  Esther 1:20; 5:4, 13; and 7:5, and 7.  However at this same time, the name of the Midian King is given 192 times; his kingdom 26; Yet the Almighty God is left completely out of this story of the Jews, while Asahuerus is given 29 times.

Remember the warning God gave to His People in Deuteronomy 31:16-18?  God warned His People that if His people forsook Him, He would hide His face from them.  "And the Lord said unto Moses, "Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy  fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake Me, and break My covenant which I have made with them." [16] "Then My anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, `Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?' "  [17]

Deuteronomy 31:18   "And I will surely hide My face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods."

After the death of King Josiah, the kingdom of Judah had sunk far deeper in sin than the House of Israel had sunk prior to that time.  Even deeper in sin than the House of Israel was in when God allowed the Assyrians to come and take the land and scatter the ten tribes out of their lands.  One hundred and thirty five years after the House of Israel was scattered by the Assyrians God lifted His hand of protection from the House of Judah, and allowed Babylon to take them captive, because of their sin and wickedness.  Although in his prophesies the book of Jeremiah, the prophet Jeremiah gave the house of Judah the warning, they laughed in his face and mocked him.  When the appointed time came, God allowed the House of Judah to be taken into captivity, and during that seventy years of captivity their real troubles started.

In the book of Esther this prophetic warning from God to Moses was that He would "hide My face in that day for all the evils which they have wrought...", that prophecy came true.  We know that when the Jews were in Babylon the Levites completely left their posts and duties of the priesthood.  The Prophet Ezra records that on the return to Jerusalem after the captivity, Ezra found out that of all 280 priests, not one of the priests in their midst was a Levite.  The "Strangers" called the "Nethinims" had completely taken over the priesthood, and "there was not one son of Levi amongst them", Ezra 8:15.

I Chronicles 2:55 identifies these "Strangers", [Nethinims- Strangers given to service in the house of the Lord].  "And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez [ Jerusalem ]; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites.  These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab."  These people that had taken over the priesthood were not even of the House of Jacob, or of the seed of Abraham, but Kenites, sons or offspring of "Cain", of Satan's seed.  It is important that you verify this from “Strong's Concordance” Hebrew Dictionary, "Kenite", # 7014, and #7017 for your own mind.  These Kenites had replaced the Levites and sons of Aaron who were appointed by God to lead the people in the Temple and stand before the altar of God.

#7014; "Qayin, kah'yin; the same as #7013 (with a play on the affinity to #7069); Kajin, the name of the first child, also of a place in Pal., and of an Oriental tribe: Cain, Kenite (s)."  # 7017; "Qiyniy (I Chronicles 2:55 ) kay-nee'; Patron from #7014; a Kenite or member of the tribe of Kajin:-Kenite."

The children of the house of Judah had just ended their captivity, with these Kenites priests in charge at their synagogue.  Jesus noted this change of spiritual leadership from the Levites to these Kenites in Matthew 23:1-3"Then spake Jesus to the multitude and to His disciples," [1] "Saying, "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:" [2]  "All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe; that observe and do; but do not after their works: for they say and do not." [3]   These Kenites were presenting themselves as being of Abraham, yet they follow their own man made traditions.  They say one thing, yet do another, for their bible is their traditions that has became what we call the Talmud today.

Jesus warned us to learn of these hidden people for they are the ones spoken of in Genesis 3:15 , as well as in Revelation 2:9, and 3:9.  "I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty (but thou art rich), and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan." [Rev. 2:9]   When Jesus faced these men, He knew that they were the ones that would try Him and crucify Him, for that was the reason that God came to this earth age in the flesh.  He came to fulfill prophecy and break down the barrier between God and His children.  This placement of the Kenites over the priesthood took place while they were captive in Babylon, over 400 years before Jesus entered this earth age of flesh man, born of a Virgin, in the tiny body of a baby.

God's protective hand had been removed from the nation of Judah , and there was much confusion amongst the people of the house of Judah at this time.  So in this megilloth story of Esther, created to clear up this confusion amongst the Jews, Satan is using this man Haman and his ten sons for his purpose, and God is allowing it to happen.  The important thing here is that even though the House of Judah was in a fallen state or condition, God will still use them to fulfill His promise of the coming Messiah.  It was no accident that these Kenites would cause these things to happen, for God recorded in Genesis 3:15 that the sons of Satan, these Kenites would be used in fulfilling that part of the role in the trial and crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ at the appointed time.  God will preserve His Seed line so that the Messiah would be born into this world age of flesh man, exactly as prophesied.  These Kenites would be instrumental in driving those spikes into his heel, which would cause the God to crush the head of Satan.

Genesis 3:15   "And I [God, YHVH] will put enmity between thee [Satan] and the woman [Eve], and between thy [Satan's] seed [the Kenites] and her Seed [Jesus Christ]; I [Christ] shall bruise his [Satan's] head, and thou [the Kenites] shalt bruise His [Christ's] heel ."

Our Lord was crucified over four hundred and fifty years after the Jews came out of captivity.  While Satan's end will not take place until after the thousand year kingdom of Jesus Christ reign here on earth called the Millennium; and YHVH's great white throne Judgment.  Though God's workings are secret and hidden even in the use of the Story of Esther, He still leaves his prints in a manner that makes sense to those willing to study.  The name Jehovah, "EHYEH", "I AM THAT I AM" is given in reverse and used in acrostic form.  The "Massorah" text has a "rubric" calling attention to this fact.  These acrostics will be pointed out as we cover them in our study of their place in Scripture.  When it becomes necessary, and the Sacred Name "YHVH" is given, the four consonant letters of the Sacred Name are so placed in bold capital letters that each of them are calling our attention to that acrostic.

Read all 10 chapters of Esther on your own; then you decide if it is fact or fiction; But know that even if fiction, God is in control. Think about the acrostics  We will will be point them (the acrostics) out as we cover them in our study, and of their place in Scripture.
