The truth about:

REVELATION

OF SAINT JOHN THE DIVINE BY JESUS CHRIST

Chapter 10 begins after the line of red stars ************* below.

But First please note:
Many churches stay clear of the Book of Revelation on a verse by verse study, because they teach;

"You're going to be gone anyway at that time".

They also say;
"It's not to be understood yet"
.

This is odd because the very word "Revelation"
means to "to reveal" or "unveil" something.

When you unveil anything,

you make it known.

The book of Revelation is a sister book to the book of Daniel in the Old Testament.

Both of these books were written to the people who live in the final generation, of the "latter days".

Daniel was told to, "shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end:"  [Daniel 12:4].

He was told by God; "Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand: but the wise shall understand." [Daniel 12:10]

The wise are those who study God's word, line upon line, chapter upon chapter, and all these words are wisdom from God

This is why the wise should understand.

As we study Revelation, let us take a fresh look at the book, and allow God's Word to speak through us. Let's permit the Holy Spirit to allow His words to speak to our hearts which is our minds with understanding.

This chapter covers a time period that most people living on the face of the earth today will live through, and the wise Christian should understand these teachings.

So, be very cautious of any group that would tell you not to study, or to throw away part of God's word. Those are words Satan would use.

Caution to students of God;s Word - Please remember two things when using our American Wisdom Series studies:
#1. Our commentary is not God's Word. It is only our interpretation or understanding of "His Word" and even though we try our best to be accurate we may or may not be correct. #2. The King James translation, or any other translation, of the original Hebrew text has some words which were given different translations at different places probably because of the interpreters preconceived ideas of what they think God meant to say. For example: According to the notes in the "Drake's Annotated Reference Bible" the Hebrew word hayah in the KJV is Trans. (became) 67 times, (becamest or came to pass) 505 times, (become) 66 times, and (come to pass) 131 times, but for some reason in Genesis 1:2 it is translated (was)! That sure changes the way a person perceives the original creation of the earth, doesn't it?  Gen. 1:2 And the earth was (became) without form, ... Having said that, let us continue with our "studies". These studies contain knowledge, we believe, you must have to fully and accurately unlock and understand the Word of God.
May the Holy Spirit be your only guiding light. Sincerely, John Rhine

Revelation 2:17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 16:13-14
[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

REVELATION

Chapter 10

"The Angel with the Book"

Revelation 10:1 "And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:"

Revelation 10:2 "And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,"

This is a vision given by Jesus to John about this mighty angel. The fire did not burn the little book, and in most cases, fire indicates the burning of the Spirit of God. This is a cleansing fire that comes upon the whole earth. For the key to understanding what is burned upon the earth, we go to II Peter 3:10; "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements [evil rudiments] shall melt with fervent heat,"

Those "elements" are the "rudiments of all evil", for all of Satan's works and evil deeds will be gone. God's children shall not be touched. God's wrath will only directed towards his enemies.

Revelation 10:3 "And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered, and write them not."

Revelation 10:4 "And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not."

What ever those seven thunders uttered, it is not recorded for us to know.

Revelation 10:5 "And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,"

Revelation 10:6 "And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:"

The angel swore by Almighty God. The thunders covered the full cycle of all events about to happen, but the angel is announcing the close of this earth age: This earth age is over and finished.

The seven seals took us to the end of this earth age, the age where man lives in the flesh body. The earth continues on into eternity, but man no longer will live in the flesh following the close of this earth age.

The seven trumpets exist in the same time frame as the seven seals, and end with the "day of the Lord". However, we are still in the sixth trumpet during this part of the vision. So then, what are the thunders?

Thunder is the report, or sound caused by the movement of lightning. The lightning is the action that took place, while the thunder follows later. The thunder is indicating the distance in time that has passed since the action had occurred. By the time you here the thunder, the lightning is long past.

This is why the thunders are sealed. By the time the thunders take place; you will have already lived through it and it will be history to you. If you wait to recognize the thunder, it's to late for you. Jesus told us in Luke 10:18. "...I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven." We saw in the Revelation 9:1, when the fifth angel sounded his trumpet the star [lightning] fell from heaven. This sixth trumpet then is the announcement of that fall from heaven. If you are waiting for that announcement, your already part of Satan's system. You must know before hand from God's Word, for without that knowledge [seal] in your mind, God will turn you over to Satan [Revelation 9:4].

You must know that the trumpets give the action of what is to takes place in this time of testing. To not know this report [prophesy] before it comes about will cause you to be caught up in the action as an "actor", and not an "observer". God gives you His prophecies so you can be an observer. Do you get it?

Revelation 10:7 "But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets."

When the seventh angel sounds his trumpet, then the mystery of God shall be finished. Should this be a mystery or surprise to you as a Christian? Not if you have studied God's Word. For God revealed every detail of what we shall see, and hear, in His Word. There are no surprises. Jesus said many times, "It is written". What is written will come to pass. All the prophecies uttered by the prophets, and disciples, as well as our Lord, referring to these latter days, is what the thunders revealed.

This seal is broken by the blood of Jesus Christ, and through Him we can take the knowledge of God's Word into our minds, and act upon that knowledge.

Revelation 10:8 "And the voice which I heard from heaven spoke unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth."

"The little book which is open," is God's Word, the Bible. This book is not sealed, and never has been. It is open to you as a believer, but to those not of God, and many others, it is confusion.

Revelation 10:9 "And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey."

When you partake of it, it's going to be as sweet as honey, but later it will be bitter in your belly. When you read it and first take it in, the words are sweet to you. Then as the Words are taught to you for their meanings and you live by it, it can become bitter. Meditation of God's Words are sweet, However, when you act upon it, then comes the bitter persecution in many ways.

Revelation 10:10 "And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter."

Did the angel force feed John? No. John asked for the book, he took it and ate it. The angel required John to "take it", so he did. What you get from God's Word requires an action on your part. You have to take it, read it, meditate upon it, understand it, then you can act upon it. God's way is for you to search the Scriptures.

Revelation 10:11 "And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings."

When you start sharing God's Word you can see how much honey flows, as those around you think your nuts, and with a few screws lose. God's messenger is giving to John this command. What day was John in at this time? This happened on the last day of this earth [flesh] age. The day when the seventh trumpet sounds. John did go back to the Isle of Patmos, in 90 A.D., and wrote all the things he had seen, and you and I have them recorded in our Bibles today. Through this little book, the Bible, many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings have received John's prophecies that were given to him in the Spirit, by our Lord Jesus Christ.

American Wisdom Series Editor's Note: We are going to stop here in this "Revelation of Jesus Christ" study to review some commentary from chapter 10 in an earlier study we published on the "Revelation of Jesus Christ."  I don't believe you will find much difference in the general opinion of these 2 authors, but to read another person's perspective of events that did and will take place may prove helpful in our understanding of Jesus' revelation. Also, our introduction #9300 was taken from this earlier study so keep your eyes open for study tips and rules to help simplify your grasp of Jesus' end time revelation

Woe, Woe, Woe your boat! The flood of lies cometh! So get on board the "ark" of His covenant of these last days.

Woe, Woe! We're in the second woe! The 6th Trumpet has sounded and all hell is breaking loose! The locust army is swarming and Satan's angels as priests of God are leading the charge before old dragon breath himself rides into town (that'd be Jerusalem) on his pale white horse dressed like the King of kings.

But there are those who have the seal of God in their foreheads whom Satan and his troops may not touch. Let's read some more detail in chapter 10 of the Book of Revelation.

Rev. 10:1
And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
What an awesome sight this mighty angel of the Lord must have been, appearing with the beauty of the rainbow, the "shekinah glory" round about him as his face shines with the brilliance of the sun and his feet sparkle like pillars of fire.

It is still hard to imagine all of things that John saw when he was taken to heaven, but you have to admit he keeps his cool and does a great job of describing them to us. What a blessed servant of our Father he was and is!

Note: Just so you know, you'll never read of a female angel in the Bible. They are all male, for they are all sons of God, even as we all are, though in the flesh we have gender. (Personally, I think God sent all the female angels here in the flesh to try to add some semblance of sanity to men's ways. Just kidding.)

[2] And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
The "little book" in the angel's hand was open! It was not closed and it was not sealed. Oh please! Yes, of course it is the Bible!

Also, there are only two things which cover the surface of this earth, water and land (ice is water too!). The expression "and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth" gives us a picture of the angel standing on the whole world, to which this applies.

[3] And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
Remember a few chapters back when we discussed that the Holy Spirit doesn't randomly choose symbology, but rather chooses those things which we can understand from nature itself? So what is thunder?

Thunder is the loud crackling sound you hear that tells you that lightning has struck.

Note: If you are struck by the lightning itself, chances are you won't hear the thunder because your ears are probably burnt off.

Now here's the point to all of this. Jesus Christ has forewarned us about the "lightning". It is not of nature, it is of super-nature, i.e. supernatural.

Luke 10:18
And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Satan strikes as lightning at the 6th Trump. That would be the one we are studying now. We haven't gotten to the 7th Trump yet when Christ returns. So always remember that Satan comes first, as lightning!

In fact, when he gets here he's going to perform great wonders and illusions in the sight of men and even make fire (meaning lightning) come down from heaven to convince the unlearned that he is Jesus. The people will love him! They already love laser and light shows, so just wait 'till they witness this display!

Rev. 13:13
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
So don't be confused by the imposter, for the real Christ also comes as lightning.
Matthew 24:27
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
This is the 7th Trump. So, if you wait until you hear the thunders, it's too late, it's all over, including the shouting!
[4] And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
Actually, why bother writing them down? If the lighting has already struck then the thunders are simply the history of what has already happened. We've already been given the prophecies of all that will occur to this final generation BEFORE it happens, and if we aren't prepared for the lighting to strike, if we don't have the lightning rod of truth firmly grounded in our minds, by the time we hear the thunder our house will be GONE!
[5] And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
He's about to give the final benediction of this flesh age.
[6] And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
Time's up!
Rev. 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
Remember, God has foretold us all things pertaining to the events that will happen to this generation. He declared it all to His prophets, whose names are Moses, Isaiah, David, Daniel, Ezekiel, Deuteronomy, Jeremiah, Joel, Amos, etc., etc.

(What? Is Deuteronomy really someone's name? Well, you know how we shorten everyone's full name from like Frederick to Fred and Matthew to Mat, etc. So I think that's where we got "Hey Dude" from "Hey Deut". Hmmmmm. Maybe not.)

But people often ask, "Are there any prophets of God alive today?" The answer is "Yep, they're all alive. They are all with Him, the Living Word, and their voices can still be heard this very day in the Written Word, just as His is".

[8] And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
Again, the little book is open, but the angel isn't about to just hand it over to John. He says "Come and get it". If you want the Word of God then you must go take it. Our Father doesn't force His Word down our throats.

Want to be sealed of God? Then go get the unsealed scroll and here is what you do with it!

[9] And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
The Word of God is spiritual food and must be eaten daily. Yes, our daily bread, the bread of life, is the Word of God.

Jeremiah ate His words.

Jeremiah 15:16
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
Ezekiel ate them.
Ezekiel 2:9
And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;

Ezekiel 3:3
And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

John ate them.
Rev 10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
What kind of a diet do you have?

Learning and knowing the truth of God's Word is exciting and beautiful and the taste of truth is as sweet as honey! But when you have digested that knowledge and meditated upon it, and can see the stark reality of what is happening in this world and why, it can be pretty "gut wrenching", and thus is one form of bitterness.

But there is another bitterness when you have eaten "truth". And that is, be prepared to suffer the bitterness of persecution as Christ would tell us:

John 17:14
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them...
And finally, back to Rev. 10 to complete the chapter, the angel of the Lord said to John:
Rev. 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy.." Acts 2:17

There are some really exciting times just ahead of us! And those who have the seal of God in their foreheads, who have eaten the "little book", are going to be delivered up (Mk. 13) and give testimony, i.e. prophesy, during this 6th Trump. It will be bitter sweet, though we know we have the victory!

We are still in the 6th Trump. In chapter 10 we read about how one must take the opened, unsealed little book and eat it and digest it the belly and be filled to the brim with His Word (the brim is what your hat goes on). For as we read in Acts 2:17 concerning the last days, when God pours out His Spirit, there shall be much prophesying, and His elect who have the seal of God in their foreheads will be delivered up and give testimony "before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings", just as John was told in the last verse of chapter 10 (Rev. 10:11).

Jesus Christ told us the very same thing:

Mark 13:9
But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
There be will lots of excitement during this 6th Trump. Are you ready?

In chapter eleven we are now going learn about two of God's testimony givers, witnesses, who are going to be real trouble makers for Satan and his New and Improved New World Order, now with Lightning Miracle Glow. You've heard the expression "fighting fire with fire" (and you should well know what the "fire" in Revelation is). Well, these two witnesses will be given authority and power from on High to be unto Satan what Moses and Aaron were unto Pharaoh, with one exception. Pharaoh finally gave in and let the people go. Satan never gives in and eventually kills these two witnesses and throws a big party to celebrate.

That'll certainly cause another Woe!

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.  We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
